Anna & Elsa

Okay, where do I begin? Well Disney's new film Frozen opened on November 27th where I live. However, I went to an early showing the night before and absolutely loved it. The story, the characters, and the MUSIC are all just amazing. I love the characters Anna and Elsa . I drew them a week or two ago and I really like how they came out. I did this in color pencil.

Miss Demure

I drew this a week or two ago. I like the body of the dress and the color. I made this for my Grandma's 80th birthday. However, my Aunt Michelle is making cards of the image for my Grandma for Christmas. Its simple and I think its pretty.

Little Black Dress

Made this a week or two ago. I like how it came out. I had a little trouble with her legs though.

The Monarch

I have to say that this is one of my best. My great Aunt's partner just passed away after being with each other for 14 years. She truly loved him. My great Aunt loves butterflies. She wanted a previous piece I made a little while ago but I was stingy and didn't want to give it away. However, based upon the circumstances, I really wanted to make her something special. Based on one of Bella Pilar's pieces I made this. The wings of the dress are water color and the skin and hair is color pencil. I love how it came out and to see my great Aunt's face after I gave it to her was incredible.

Now I have created two of these amazing butterfly gowns based off of Bella Pilar's illustrations.

Beautifully Dark

This was another sketch I based off of Bella Pilar that I really do like. This was done in color pencil.

The angle of her body was slightly hard to draw, but for the most part I think I did pretty well with it. I really love the little flowers too and the shading of the body.

High Fashion

This is another sketch based off of Bella Pilar. This was done in color pencil.

I love the shoes and skirt.

Messy Plaid Chic

Haven't posted in quite sometime. However, I have been doing a lot of sketches these past few months. I am obsessed with the artist Bella Pilar and her illustrations, I have been basing my sketches from her pieces. However, I change different things and leave them faceless unlike her. Here is one of my first sketches based off her work.

The dress is water color and everything else is color pencil. I really like how it came out. Especially the shading of the body and face.

A Bird Amongst Flowers

I have been working on this piece since December. I kept blowing it off and saying, "I'll get to it". Well today I finally did, I shaded the bird, the butterfly on the upper right hand corner and the flower and stem in the bottom right hand corner, and more of the wood branch. It took forever, but was worth it.

Water Color Cat

This was a piece I made for my cousin Katie of her cat. I hadn't drawn animals in a really long time, so I was a little rusty. Overall, I didn't do too bad. The detail took a while, but was worth it. The only hard thing about this project was painting a cat. (Dog person). I have to paint three more cats for Katie, I hope they come out as good as this one.

"Dark Tunnel" 6x6 Contemporary Art show

This is a very important piece. My senior year art class had an assignment that was to create 3 6x6" pieces. Any medium; any theme. My teacher told us one of every three pieces would be submitted to the Rochester Contemporary Art Center's annual 6x6 art show. I was excited that one of my pieces had the opportunity to be in a actual art show! The inspiration of my piece came from a dream I had. I was walking down a dark tunnel and found the light at the end. I don't know if it was sign, but oh well, it was probably for my art project. This project was done in water color and water color pencil.
Later my teacher announced to my class that she was wrong. When she brought all of our pieces (50 total) the instructor of the art show could only selected 5 pieces out of the 50. Mine was one of the five the instructor picked. I was so grateful. At this art show each of the thousands of pieces there were auctioned off for 20$ each as a donation to the art show's center. My piece sold! I don't know who bought my piece, but I am so grateful that somewhere out there, someone has my piece, whether it's hanging on their wall, in their office, or whatever, someone liked my piece enough to buy it. I am so happy and thrilled I was able to take part in this art show. http://roco6x6.org/6x6x2013.php?artwork_id=3655&fb_action_ids=611917912152069&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=aggregation&fb_aggregation_id=288381481237582 (This will take you to my piece).

Picture of my piece at the show!

The only thing is, they spelled my last name incorrectly. Its okay...

Butterfly Dress

I love this piece. It was based off a birthday card from the company Papyrus. This was done in colored pencil. I love it and the detail is very nice.

Tattoo Iris

For my last art project of my senior year, the themed was tattoos. To be honest, I didn't have much inspiration for this project, the idea sort of just popped into my head. Its not my best nor my favorite project, however, you can tell I took time for the detail of this project.

Didn't realized until I finished this project that I gave the eye two tear-ducks.

Gandhi Illustration

Mahatma Gandhi has been a huge inspiration in my life. This was one of the most difficult art projects of my senior year. The assignment was to create an illustration of someone who inspired you. Here's the catch, you had to create the illustration by using a quote or phrase that represented the individual. You had to shade by varying the size of the writing. I chose Gandhi's famous quote, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." This quote means so much to me. This project was done in sharpie marker. This project took me very long and was grueling. However, I love the result. To be honest though, I sometimes prefer my sketch over the finished project. I had to rewrite that quote probably a thousand times, but it was worth it.

Confined

This is probably one of my favorite pieces I've made. The background is oil pastel with paint thinner and the hands were drawn on foam that I eventually had to cut out. It took forever, but came out very good.

Flower Alphabet

This was a project for my senior year art class. The assignment was to create a themed alphabet by making the letters out of the certain theme. My theme was flowers. I love flowers and through this project I was able to discover flowers I've never heard of. By the way, during the time I worked on this project, I had all four of my wisdom teeth out. It was not fun.

Aquatic Chic

For another art project for senior year, we had to create a magazine cover. To be honest, I really don't know where the idea of mine came from. I just thought, "I'll put a fish bowl around a woman's head." I have to say that it is a strange project, but pleasing to the eye.

Rapunzel

After looking at my older drawings of Rapunzel, I realized I never drew her in color. I drew Rapunzel from the lanterns scene from Tangled. I really like the shading of this piece, however, I did not finish it.

Product Piece (Pasta)

The following project for my senior year was to design your own or recreate a product. I chose items that are used in making a pasta dish. The background is individual crumpled up pieces of brown paper, painted with different shades of brown. Each piece was glued on to create a Tuscan looking background.

This is the photo the piece is based on, which I took.

100 Faces

The first project of my senior year art class was to create a collage of 100 faces. You were able to just draw fast sketch faces, since you had to draw so many. Being the perfectionist I am, I tried to put as much detail into each face as I could. This project was very grueling and time consuming, in the end though, this project was a success.

Annalise #2

My senior year I wanted to do another portrait of my little cousin Annalise. This is just a sketch. I never got to the final piece. However, I did much better on this small sketch than I did on her original portrait I made of her.

Humming Bird

I created this piece my Junior year. It is probably one of the best pieces I've made throughout high school. It is done with water color and sharpie maker. The detail took time, however, it seems I have patience for art, but not for other things.

Wine Glass

I created this piece my Junior year. It is done with oil pastel and paint thinner. It is an eerie piece, but powerful. I really like this piece a lot.

Merida from Brave

Yet another Disney film I really enjoyed. I guess I am a huge animation fan because I appreciate the detail of each shot of films. I was blown away with Merida's hair. The detail that went into it. I created a drawing of Merida in tribute of the movie Brave.

I had trouble with her nose.

2012

Abstract Piece

Not until my Junior year of high school did I really begin to show my artistic ability. For this piece, I have to say that I like parts more from my sketch than my final and vise versa. It is a strange piece, but very eye catching.

I like the pencil more in my sketch.

Lace Series Project

In my Junior year art class, our project was to create a series (3 pieces maximum) that incorporated a central theme. I chose lace and how lace is incorporated in the main stages of life. For the first stage I chose childhood, represented by a young girl in a communion dress with lace. Second, marriage, represented by a bride in a lace dress. Third, death, represented by a woman with a black lace veil over her face. I liked my idea for the project more than I liked how the project came out. The little girl came out not so great. I like the sketch of the bride more than I like the final piece. The woman with the black veil came out alright though.

The detail for the veil took very long.

Landscape Water Color

I created this piece my Junior year. This project took forever, however, did come out quite nice.

Oil Pastel

I created this my sophomore year of high school. It took a long time to make, but came out pretty cool.

Kitchen Sink Fountain

For my sophomore year, I'd say that this was probably one of my best pieces. It is on canvas and done with acrylic paint.

This is the photo it is based on, which I took.

Oil Pastel Flowers

This was just a practice piece before I started my final project. I really like how the flowers came out though.

School year of 2011-2012

Annalise

In 2011 I created a portrait of my little cousin Annalise. I am not so comfortable with portraits as I am with landscapes, but its not too bad for one of the few portraits I've made.

This is the actual photo it is based on, which I took. I didn't draw her teeth because for me, it would have been too difficult.

Anime Guy

In 2011 I tried my hand at anime. I was okay with it, but I do like this one piece I made. He's mysterious in a way and cool.

Tangled

Most of my friends and family know that I have a slight obsession with the Disney movie Tangled. I envision that if I were to be a Disney princess, I would be Rapunzel. Yes, I graduated high school and yet just made that very statement. Rapunzel has long and beautiful hair. I have long hair and from what I'm told is very pretty but not blonde like her. Rapunzel is an artist! Just like me and sings when she is home alone... like me as well. She's corky and full of life. As a tribute to one of my favorite Disney movies I drew Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. I love them! I created these pieces my sophomore year in 2011.

Pink Tulips

Not until high school did my true artistic ability begin to blossom. This is a piece from my sophomore year in high school. This is a painting of tulips using a palette knife with acrylic paint. It took very long, but was worth the hard work. This piece was featured in my former school district's annual art show at Greece Ridge Mall.

They spelled my last name wrong, like always!
